Our Commitment

Immense Designs is a web design and development studio in Denver, Colorado. We want this site, and the sites we build for clients, to work for as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology. We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our working standard. This is a commitment to how we design and develop, not a claim of certification or full conformance.

What That Covers in Practice

When we build immense.design and client projects, WCAG 2.1 AA shapes the decisions we make at every stage. In day-to-day terms, that means we work to:

  • Meet AA color contrast ratios for text against its background, so copy stays readable.
  • Support keyboard navigation, with visible focus states and a logical tab order for people who do not use a mouse.
  • Write descriptive alt text for images that carry meaning, and mark purely decorative images so screen readers can skip them.
  • Use semantic structure: real headings in order, landmarks, lists, and labeled form fields, so assistive technology can read the page the way it is meant to be read.
  • Respect the reduced-motion preference where motion is used, so animation eases off for people who ask their device to limit it.

Known Limitations

We would rather be honest about the gaps than claim a perfect record.

The animated artwork on our homepage is built with Three.js and is decorative. It carries no information you need to understand the page or take action. The headline and the rest of the page are real, structured text that works without the animation, and the motion respects the reduced-motion preference. If any part of the site does not work the way it should with your setup, we want to hear about it so we can fix it.

Client Work

We hold the sites we build for clients to the same WCAG 2.1 AA standard. The exact scope for any project, and the level of ongoing testing, is set in that project’s agreement. Accessibility is part of how we build, alongside maintenance and hosting for clients who keep us on after launch.
